Blog Overhaul & Tekken 7 Project

Hello!

If you've been to this blog within the last ... 7 hours as of writing, you'll see a massive overhaul took place. If you were trying to navigate it while it was being overhauled (that's a big if. Its not like i'm popular or anything), then I'm really sorry. I also noticed that commenting wasn't available on most of my posts. Fixed that.
I realized that while the Dynamic views look amazing, they're a headache for certain gadgets. I'm envious of the GoogleBlog. It's so sleek and simple.

TEKKEN 7

So Tekken 7 and 7: Fated Retribution is out in arcades in Asia and Oceania and that leaves console and PC ports scheduled for 2017. I haven't been that good at Tekken but in recent times I've gotten the hang of it and actually play it quite ... well, well I would say (should have seen the mess I was before).
You can see me here with my dear Asuka in online play.

Due to this new found love of Asuka I've taken up the mantra "GitGud" very heavily. My objective in this is to stop crying cheat and overcome all the hard, cheating AI in every game I lay my hands on.

Anyway. This isn't the reason I led you here. This is.

I had been working on a boxart for Tekken 7 in hopes of creating a splash. In fact, I managed to do just that.

Pretty nifty eh? This was actually the 2nd time poking Mr Harada about my little project, and my 3rd time interacting with him (1st was a convo involving Kamitami George). He said on both occasions about the T7 box art that "It could be mistaken for the real thing by retailers." Of course, my head got big a bit. I was proud of my work. In my mind, I am hoping they want to use it for some way or offer me a job (though I actually doubt a bit).
The artwork in this tweet is the latest version of the project for my Tekken 7 box art. Of course, I intend to distribute this freely as a download for whoever wants it. I'm working on one with Asuka, but I haven't gotten hold of HQ renders of her Tekken 7 depiction. One glorious day!
I also have a Wii U version of Tekken TT2 box art project featuring Jaycee.

Still a work in progress. I should get to it sometime soon.
If for some reason, you're having problems viewing the Tweeted image, here it is.
I won't make these public until Tekken 7 comes out. I'm excited to see what NAMCO themselves do for Tekken 7's artwork! Then I can compare my work with theirs and learn a few more things!
A lot of people mistake these for the official, final product. Even asking things like "Why is Xiaoyu on the cover!?" in a very mean tone. Most people tend to like it however. I'm glad for that. They are not official, at least not until Mr Harada tweets me saying "Hey! We'd like to use your project. Also, do you want a job!?" This is a fan project and out of respect for the official work, will not be put out until the official is out and ready to be seen. This is also why I've included low res previews. Have to wait it out. ^^
BTW. Yes, I'll try to do one for Xbox One as well. I guess.

And as such is my custom (and reason for starting this blog, really), I have special Tekken wallpapers I put together. Initially I made these for use on my PlayStation, so have at ye! I'm sharing them with the world now. Just click on them and save the image of the ones you want. Or better yet, open in new tab ^^ !

And here's one for mobile.

*Notes: Each wallpaper is 1080HD including the mobile version.
** Differences: Each wallpaper (excluding mobile) has a duplicate with a different logo. Tekken 7 introduced a new, Kanji-less logo, and since it seems that the Kanji-less logo may be used for the final game, especially in the West, I included it in my project. This method can also be seen in the box art. There are 2 types of Xiaoyu's because I like Xiaoyu. Nothing complicated to it.

I have Asuka wallpaper of course using Yamashita Shunya -sensei's artwork from Tekken TT2. I'm keeping these to myself for now. Although, you can see Asuka to the right of this blog (as of the time of writing). And on my YouTube channel. And On my G+... And on Twitter... And on my PS3... I don't have a problem.

I hope I peaked your interest. If I did, please leave a comment, rant, something. At the right time, these box art will be available for anyone who may want to use it! Until then! Jaaaa~ !

PlayStation 20th Anniversary Custom Wallpaper

Hello! It's a whole year but I still did one. Lool It's not too late to say Happy Anniversary once more, right? I just wanted to make something new so I put together two PlayStation 20th Anniversary wallpapers.

Spotlight: Character Design - Tetsuya Nomura

After going through the internet in recent weeks and getting stressed over some details of Final Fantasy XV and it's reception, I set out to write a Defense of Nomura post. TWICE. However, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to say that hasn't already been said by others, nor how to say it without being the ultimate fanboy. Furthermore, I started to question myself. As an aspiring character designer, why do I even like the art of Tetsuya Nomura? What about it makes it so, "interesting." In truth, I'm just going to wing it while listening to Jpop. Hello. If you've been to this blog before, I take it you've seen my last post was Christmas 2016. Truth is, my computer died and the replacement is also nonoperational until I get a replacement HDD. So, I've busted out my beloved HP Chromebook 14 and instead of watching anime or YouTube videos, I've decided to do something a bit more constructive. Tetsuya Nomura is well known as the creat

TERA Character: Female Castanic

At some point I returned to make a gunner again. Castanics are really the better choice stat wise as the get all the fancy crits (somewhat). Here's a character I made for that at the time.   More pictures below My entire obsession with Castanics began with one image of a Castanic Lancer with the princess cut hairstyle. And of course, I had my Castanic Lancer. Lancers are my favorite strangely. Okay, so how to make her. You'll have to carefully follow the slider numbers showed here to get her done. That's it! I hope you like this face. If you used it, drop me a screenshot on Twitter @beaniedude114. Or give a comment!
